Islamic Revolution Street is a west-east street and one of the most important and central streets of Tehran, 5 kilometers long, which starts from the West side of the Revolution Square and follows Azadi Street and ends at the East side of Imam Hossein Square and the beginning of Damavand Street. The northern part of this street belongs to the municipality of region 6 and the southern part belongs to the municipality of region 11.
This street is one of the important streets of Tehran due to the location of Tehran University and large bookstores and magazines on its side, which is one of the main streets of the city in processions and one of the centers of street gatherings. Before the Islamic Revolution, this street was called Shahreza Street in memory of Reza Shah Pahlavi.

خیابان انقلاب اسلامی خیابانی غربی-شرقی و یکی از خیابان‌های مهم و مرکزی شهر تهران به درازای ۵ کیلومتر است که از سوی غرب از میدان انقلاب و در دنبالهٔ خیابان آزادی آغاز شده و در سوی شرقی در میدان امام حسین و آغاز خیابان دماوند پایان می‌یابد. قسمت شمالی این خیابان مربوط به شهرداری منطقه ۶ و قسمت جنوبی آن مربوط به شهرداری منطقه ۱۱ می‌باشد.
این خیابان به‌علت جای‌گرفتن دانشگاه تهران و کتابفروشی‌های بزرگ و نشریات در کنارهٔ آن، از خیابان‌های مهم تهران است که یکی از خیابان‌های اصلی شهر در راهپیمایی‌ها و از کانون‌های گردهمایی‌های خیابانی به‌شمار می‌آید. این خیابان پیش از انقلاب اسلامی به یادبود رضاشاه پهلوی، خیابان شاهرضا نامیده می‌شد
