9,000-Patch Quilt for Ukraine Is a 'Hug of Love' 🇺🇦

A quilt made out of 9,000 different patches was displayed in London on August 10, with plans to eventually make its way to Ukraine. Janno McLaughlin, an Australian artist who designed the quilt, called it a ‘huge international hug of love and support’ for the embattled country and a sign that ‘the world cared about them.’

McLaughlin says most of the quilt’s patches feature sunflower art because the flower is ‘culturally significant and is the Ukrainian symbol of hope and resilience.’
