خلاصه داستان:
یاران غار شماری خداپرست بودند که اندکی پس از میلاد مسیح و پیش از گسترش مسیحیت در زمان فرمانروایی یکی از پادشاهان روم باستان با نام دقیانوس در سرزمین فیلادلفیا زندگی می‌کردند و همگی جز یکی از آنان که چوپان بود از بلندپایگان (اشراف) و درباریان بودند و ایمان خود را پنهان نگاه می‌داشتند.
چون آن‌ها بخفتند قطمیر دست‌ها پیش دراز کرد و چنان‌که عادت سگ باشد دهان به سر دست نهاده در خواب ژرفی فرورفت. پس به خواب رفتند و پس از 309 سال بیدار شدند....

Synopsis:
The companions of the cave were a number of theists who lived in Philadelphia shortly after Christ and before the spread of Christianity during the reign of one of the ancient Roman kings, Decianus, all but one of whom was a shepherd, a nobleman and a courtier. They kept their faith secret.
As they fell asleep, he stretched out his arms and, as was the dog's habit, put his mouth to his head and fell into a deep sleep. So they fell asleep and woke up after 309 years ....
