It's the end of an era. After nearly 4 years of filming in my kitchen, I finally rented my own art studio! I've been busy with the build-out and hope to give you the tour in the next video for breaking it in and getting messy! For this video I had to cobble together a few remaining paint colors left at home, and was forced to use my personal hairdryer to blow out the blooms. It was a bit of a disaster and have nearly 3 hours I only had two small pieces of art to show for its. The green round is super pretty though and fun to paint in my kitchen one last time. Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate:
PPG Multi-Pro in Eggshell.
Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe: mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); JoSonja Gloss Varnish 3:2 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well.
Brands/Colors mixed:
Golden Fluid Acrylics in Phthalo Blue, Phthalo Turquoise, Iridescent Bright Gold, and Teal.
Golden, Atelier, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics: I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I'll add a teaspoon of varnish/water to thin. (I make a bottle of "Jo-Wa" by adding 1/3 JoSonja Gloss Varnish and the rest water, and keep it in a squeeze bottle and use as my "water.")
All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator Color:
Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Lamp Black and Amsterdam Grayish Blue. Approximately 3:1 ratio Floetrol to paint.
