Interview with Nazanin Moradi: Painter
I am Nazanin Moradi, an Artist.
Artist means someone that is creating at all time, is expressing the world, the world in which he/she lives in, the space he/she is in, the effects that space, in terms of mentality and physicality it has on him/her.
There was a children program on Fridays, of which we used to send our works!
Because I sent my work a few times, and in front of the TV every single Friday, so that they would show my work one day.
Never…, they never showed.
Perhaps that’s how it started that I had very high expectations. That when I can only be a painter, that they show my works on TV!
How I started with “Performance Art”, was that at the university, we were told to do a work, which we haven’t done yet. That was when I began, to use (Boom) canvas the material of canvas, and made a skin for myself. I wore that Canvas, and went to East of London, where there are most of the banks and offices, and started to play show. It started from there.
The effect which “Performance” has, and as for me it’s just like that it provides “Balance” along with the “Painting”.
I saw that it is a very good medium.
Err, when I said that, I am always changing/shuffling the places of among painting, performance or print, is exactly because of the transformation which was created within me, would not wished to be painting only.
I felt that it I need to create a character, and that a character should be created. However I did not know what that character is. I only knew that I need to play with my body, I need to do a performance.
The print which is taken on the aluminium, this print really refers to mosaic, to the tile work of Safavid Era (Dynasty), when for the first time in Safavid Era (Dynasty), they wanted to expedite the work, they would do 16*16 mosaics which are found at houses everywhere.
I am now kind of bringing the innovation which was done at that time on the aluminium now, which is a thoroughly new device and material.
My works were selected for a few festivals this year, in which there were prints and there were series of printing contest, and there were series of “Honar Haye Ziba” Fine Art contests, and there was no limitation.
In terms of exhibition, it was a good beginning, there was a contest in which, it was about “Home/House”, what it is that, we call a “Home/House”?
Home/House is a memory is a remembrance, or anywhere can be a home/house, anywhere you create will be a Home/House, or it is a memory from then past.
I have never, I have never, thought that I can be another person, other than this is what I am, and I do not wish to be.
