"The Awaited Mahdi (AS) Episode Two: 'The Human Saviour: The Bridge between Hypothesis and Reality in Religion'"
In our endeavour to understand the grand truths introduced in the first lesson, we stand today at a crossroads that raises profound questions: What is the disputed truth? Among the claimants, who is truthful and who is false? And how do we distinguish the correct from the mistaken in their claims? Some wonder: Can the religious claim, which has not yet been implemented or its contents revealed, be merely a hypothesis unconfirmed in external reality? Or will there come a day when these religious hypotheses transform into tangible and practical truths, moving religions from theory to a stage of application and action?
In this context, we affirm that Allah, the Almighty, did not decree for the laws to remain in a stage of assumption and estimation. Instead, the truth is that the laws are destined to transform into practical and tangible reality through a human saviour. This saviour's mission is to lead humanity from the darkness of ignorance, destruction, and division to the pure light of divine justice, away from selfish tendencies, desires, and personal interests.
The purpose of sending prophets and messengers is to establish justice and equity. Until this objective is achieved on a global scale, the law remains among theories and estimations. Therefore, it is essential for Allah, the Almighty, to bring religion out of the theoretical and hypothetical stage, which began with Adam, peace be upon him, and ended with the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad, peace be upon him and his progeny, to govern the earth comprehensively through the human savior, to establish the argument against all.
But how can Imam Mahdi (AS) be the argument against those who have passed and those who remain? The answer lies in the belief that Allah, the Almighty, will transition the laws from assumption and estimation to a stage of application and action. When the law is comprehensively applied, the earth begins to reveal its blessings and goods, and humanity enjoys true justice; the argument against those who remain and those who have passed is established. Allah, the Almighty, through the creation of Adam, peace be upon him, as a prophet and the beginning of humanity with law, and ending it with the master of beings, Muhammad, peace be upon him and his progeny, did not leave anyone with an argument or a word to say that the laws were theoretical, idealistic, and did not prove their validity in external reality.
If the saviour truly applies justice, it will close the doors in front of all speakers, proving that what the laws said were not merely hypotheses, estimates, and fictional theories. It will prove that the obstacle was from human society and that people were not on the straight path and were not truly seeking guidance, truth, and justice. When people deviated from the path, they reaped and harvested what their hands had earned from destruction and dispersion.
This is the way to establish the argument against those who remain and those who have passed and to prove that Allah, the Almighty, has completed His grace and guidance to humanity through the prophets, reason, and everything that could take humanity to perfection, but the obstacle was from the people themselves.
These truths are accepted by reason and witnessed by evidence and verses. Therefore, the question remains: Is the issue of the savior a matter that only concerns the Shi'a, or is it a general Islamic issue? The numerous narrations, exceeding three thousand hadiths, all agree on the necessity of a savior from Muhammad's progeny, peace be upon him and his progeny, to lead humanity out of its destruction and darkness to justice and equity.
