STORYLINE

French President Jacques Chirac held talks with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Wednesday.

Bouteflika's visit came ahead of the French president's three-day trip to Algeria in early March.

The two leaders discussed Iraq and the current situation in the Ivory Coast, according to an Elysee spokesperson.
