When would you choose shot blasting instead of floor grinding for surface prep?

In this video, Josh Jones of Buy Manufacturers Direct demonstrates that in a smaller space, a shot blaster is a better choice than a large floor grinder. In addition to size concerns, he explains that blasting was part of the plan for this room to prepare it for the coating and epoxy skim.

In this case, shot blasting does the surface cleaning and creates a nice profile for the coating. This saves time and money.

When it’s not possible, it would be a huge liability to abandon (and bury) those contaminants and the  two processes must be done. But when it does work, it’s nice to remove the adhesive/patch and leave the surface dust free; all in one process.
