History
The ancient name of this city was "Paratak", which was later changed to Chadegan. The name of Chadgan consists of two parts "Chad" and "Gan". Chad is a Turkish word that means a groove, a gap, and a valley, and Gan is a relative suffix. The location of the old context of Chadegan city in the middle of a small valley is the same with its literal meaning. The historical history of this area is not exactly known, but what is certain is that during the Safavid era, it was a populated area due to the migration of Turkish speakers by Shah Abbas I to this area and also due to its favorable natural location and proximity to Zayandeh River. If we refer to the writings of historians, the last Achaemenid king came to Paratak to gather his troops and then he went to Hamedan after passing through other villages. There are different narrations about Iskandar's stay in this place, but from the extent of his influence in this region, we can be satisfied with the fact that the place that is now located in the village near Chadegan was named after him and is still known as "Iskandari".
