In part one (link below) we successfully transmitted a 10MHz square wave over 20m of Cat 3 twisted pair cable via RS-422. So it’s high time to actually send some real data via our RS-422 link. And of course we do that with our trusty Arduinos.

We start with a short look at signal delays, before writing code for our first Arduino to connect the serial monitor to the RS-422 interface. After a dive into the serial protocol and UART/UASRT, the second Arduino is set up as a RS-422 repeater.
