اقتصاد: اقتصاد تنكابن بر پایه کشاورزی، باغداری و دامداری است. آب كشاورزی از رودها و چشمه‌ها تأمين می‌شود و از محصولات كشاورزی آن می‌توان به برنج، گندم، جو، سبزيجات، گل گاوزبان، گياهان زينتی، چای، مركبات، كيوی، فندق، گردو، گلابی و... اشاره داشت. از مهم‌ترين صادرات اين شهرستان می‌توان انواع مركبات، برنج، چای، خرمالو و كيوی را نام برد. پرورش گل و گیاه، پرورش دام و طیور، شیلات و... از مشاغل دیگر در این شهر است؛ علاوه بر آنچه گفته شد می‌توان از صنعت گردشگری هم به عنوان شغلی درآمدزا در تنکابن نام برد.
