TEHRAN 2020 - Pasdaran Street (Part 2) / تهران - خیابان پاسداران
Pasdaran is a neighborhood of northern Tehran centered on Pasdaran Avenue. This avenue connects Niavaran avenue (from the north) to Shariati avenue (in the south). It is about 8–9 km long and is a major commercial thoroughfare for northern Tehran together with northern parts of two other long streets: Valiasr Street and Shariati Street.
Pasdaran in Persian means "guardians". Prior to 1979 Revolution this neighborhood was known as Saltanat Abad, which means "built by the monarchy", and refers to the palace of the Shah (Mohammad Reza Pahlavi), situated at the northernmost tip of this street.
Pasdaran Ave., along with the network of streets that extend out from it, make up the Pasdaran Neighborhood of Tehran, which includes areas like Farmaniye, Darrous, Rostam Abad, Saltanat Abad, Zarrabkhaneh, Mehran, Ekhtiyariyeh, Ehteshamiyeh, Doulat, Dibaji, and Chizar.
Although business and commerce is part of a trend towards increasing urbanity in the district (mainly witnessed along the district's northern edge near Farmaniye), the majority of the area's housing remains relatively suburban in nature, consisting mostly of mansions (often stereotypically Persian palaces) and townhomes or duplexes.

خیابان پاسداران نام یکی از خیابان‌های طولانی شرق تهران است که پیش از انقلاب ۱۳۵۷، خیابان سلطنت‌آباد نام داشت.
این خیابان که جهت شمالی-جنوبی دارد، مرز میان منطقه‌های ۳ و ۴ شهرداری تهران است و شمال آن در منطقه ۱ شهرداری تهران قرار گرفته‌است. خیابان پاسداران در جنوب بزرگراه همت، از خیابان شریعتی در تقاطعی موسوم به «سه‌راه ضرابخانه» آغاز شده، در میانه راه به «سه‌راه اختیاریه» و «چهارراه پاسداران» (تقاطع خیابان دولت) رسیده و سپس با گذر از میدان نوبنیاد و پل پاسداران، به منطقه ۱ شهرداری تهران وارد شده و پس از عبور از «چهارراه فرمانیه»، سه‌راه اقدسیه و بوستان نیاوران، در شمالی‌ترین قسمت خود به میدان نیاوران منتهی می‌شود.
این خیابان با طول نزدیک به ۹ کیلومتر از سه‌راه ضرابخانه تا خیابان گل نبی یکطرفه به سمت شمال بوده، سپس تا میدان نوبنیاد دوطرفه می‌شود. پس از آن از میدان نوبنیاد تا سه‌راه اقدسیه یکطرفه به سمت جنوب است و در آخر از سه راه اقدسیه تا میدان نیاوران دوطرفه می‌باشد.
