After a lot and lot of research on various bridge cameras I bought myself a Christmas present, A Canon SX60 HS.

Although I already have a Canon DSLR with both 18-55 and 55-250 kit lenses and a f2.8 90mm Macro Lens (which costs more than the SX60 itself) not to mention having been through some very expensive Canon L lenses, I wanted something with a lot of reach and good 60fps video capability.

I'd looked at hundreds of reviews and samples of various bridge cameras and had narrowed it down to four..

The two main contenders were..
Panasonic FZ330/300 - 4k video, 24-600mm Lens, constant f2.8

Panasonic FZ1000 - 4k Video, 24-400mm, 1" Sensor good for less noise, 20mp (probably the best all rounder and one I would have got if I didn't have the DSLR)

With the Sony RX10 and Nikon P900 following up the rear..

When going through samples I mainly wanted to see 1080/60p quality as this would be my main use, sure 4k looks really good and 1080 down sampled from 4k does benefit from the extra detail but was still only 30p.

I came across some amazing 1080 60p videos from the Canon SX60HS which is one I hadn't even considered at the time but wen I looked up the current price and found it was half the price of all the others I couldn't resist.

This is my very first day in using it, unfortunately the weather wasn't great in terms of lighting so I can't wait to give it a proper run in sunlight where the noise should be a lot less from the small sensor.
