1. SOUNDBITE (English) Adam Wingard, director
"Godzilla in some ways is very similar to a cat because like a cat, they have lots of emotions, but you don't see it on their face, there's a subtlety in terms of what they're projecting out. There's a moment where we needed Godzilla to hibernate somewhere, you know, hopefully somewhere interesting in the world. And, and my production designer is at my house and, you know, we were kind of talking about the idea of like, well, what if, you know, Godzilla fell asleep inside of the Roman Colosseum? You know, there's Mischief, my cat, and her, like, you know, nestled in her cat nest, rolled up in a ball with her tail kind of curled around, and we were like, well, what if we, you know, like we took a picture of Mischief and we were like, what if we had Godzilla laying like, this is tail's kind of sticking out the Colosseum? I talked to (Takashi) Yamazaki, the director of 'Godzilla Minus One', and it turns out that, his cat is also his big inspiration for his approach to Godzilla."
