Nuremberg Old Town self guided walking tour
We took the train from Munich to Nuremberg using our D-ticket. There was only a single train transfer but the wait took longer than 20 minutes. The journey including the transfer took about 2 1/2 hours.
On arrival, the old city gate is just opposite the train station and there is a tourist information close by. I took a map of the old town and the walking tour was easy to follow.
We stop for food twice,one for the bratwurst and beer, the second was for some amazing cakes.
Returning to Munich using the train was easier late in the afternoon/ evening as it was a direct journey / no transfers.
Definitely worth a visit from Munich if there is time to spare.
