Syria is home to unique mud-brick buildings that preserve pleasant temperatures through fierce summers and sub-zero winters. But the civil war has seen villagers flee and their homes crumble without regular maintenance. If the villagers can not return, a tradition maintained for thousands of years may be lost.
In Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, Adam Harvey meets an ethnologist and a Syrian builder who are working to preserve the knowledge of generations.
