In April 2019 I left on a big motorcycle adventure starting in Belgium all the way to the Himalaya's and beyond. My plan is: take no highways, ride off-road when possible, wild camp and stay with people as much as you can and try to rock climb in every country.

Route: Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Iran, ...
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I spoke my last words to Jan De Meester, gave him a good bye hug and left off towards south-east Turkey. Coming closer to the Syrian border, I realised that there are more militaries on the street, tanks, armored vehicles  and more checkpoints. Nevertheless I felt all the time completely safe. It used to be a more turbulent region due to the Kurdish, Syrian conflicts and smuggle routes.

Driving through the mountains I was amazed how beautiful and rough this part of turkey is. High mountains, snow, lush green grass fields, and off course, super friendly people!

I passed by Mardin, Hasankeyf and saw already the first stage of the massive damn that will be built for a huge hydropower plant. As a result: more than 20000 people will need to get a new home + a very beautiful historical and archaeological will soon be under water.

Going further to Batman I cross some high mountain passes and eventually make it Van. From there on I prepare my motorcycle and journey to enter Iran from Serow border.
