Defeating Elpizo with a Reflected Pantheon Hunter Shot

Adding further to my list of highly impractical battle strategies, this video is less of a challenge and more of a random amusement I thought up while practicing Elpizo. During his first form, Elpizo is capable of summoning both the Spiking enemies as well as Pantheon Hunters. Both enemies behave exactly the same as they do in stages, so the Pantheon Hunter will slowly roam around and occasionally fire shots at Zero. Knowing this, it occurred to me that it’d be possible to land the final hit on Elpizo by using the Shield Boomerang to reflect one of the Hunters’ shots into Elpizo once he’s down to 1 HP.

This isn’t so much difficult to execute as it is random. Elpizo can make large, sweeping jumps all over the arena depending on Zero’s position, so hitting him with reflected shots is incredibly inconsistent. Adding to this, he’s capable of destroying his own summoned enemies with his dash attack. The best method I found is to wait for a Hunter to fire shots, then dash away quickly to bait Elpizo into following you with a jump rather than a dash attack.

For this fight, I double slash him until he has 4 HP, then hit a walking slash to bring him down to 1 HP. After his fruitless EX Skill, he summons a Hunter and I attempt the dash away tactic. However, as if to reject the notion that he could be defeated by such a paltry attack, Elpizo parries all 3 shots. I’d like to think that perhaps this cheeky action places Elpizo into a blind rage, since shortly after he initiates a dash attack, blissfully unaware that another salvo of reflected bullets is heading straight towards him. Elpizo slaughters his own summoned companion, the only thing that could’ve acted as a shield against said bullets, and is defeated by the last vestige of the Pantheon Hunter. A very fitting end to this fight indeed.
