Dr Tabatabai is the son of the late Ayatollah Mohammad Tabatabai. Born and raised as an Imamite Shi'ite, Dr Mustafa Tabatabai rejected many extreme beliefs of the Imamite Shias (declaring the companions Kuffar, calling upon others than Allah in prayer, Ghuluww (exaggeration with the Ahl Al-Bayt of the Prophet and many other heretical Shia beliefs). He wrote many Books and articles with regards to Khurafah (superstition) especially those in the Imamite sect. Living in Tehran, his state of health is not the best and he can't leave Iran anyway (some of his books are allowed to be published in Iran, some not)His state of health is not the best and he can't leave Iran anyway.
He has written many books in defence of the Aqidah of the Sunnah, Islamic history and refuted the allegations of Shias and Anti-Islam Iranian fashists (like the infamous liar "Mosheri" whom he refutes in this series with regards to Mosheris lies about the history of Islam.
