Gross Motor Activity can help children to cope with : Command following, Direction, Leg movements & Coordination. In this video we have shown some gross motor activities for children with special needs.
Gross motor skills are foundational skills that involve bigger movements using large muscle groups – arms, legs, feet, and trunks – to move the body. ... Examples of gross motor skills include sitting, crawling, running, jumping, throwing a ball, and climbing stairs.
Gross Motor Skills (walking, running, jumping, climbing, balance, strength) Gross Motor development involves the larger, stronger muscle groups of the body. In early childhood, it is the development of these muscles that enable the baby to hold his/her head up, sit, crawl and eventually walk, run and skip.
When gross motor delay is due to a medical problem, it can have several causes: Premature birth, which can cause muscles to develop more slowly. Genetic disorder such as Down's Syndrome. Neuromuscular (nerve and muscle) disorder such as muscular dystrophy or cerebral palsy.
Motor skills are something most of us do without even thinking about them. Motor skills are divided into gross and fine. Gross motor skills include standing, walking, going up and down stairs, running, swimming, and other activities that use the large muscles of the arms, legs, and torso.
