Alexandra Feodorovna, Tsarina of Russia smiling

These are pictures of the last Empress of Russia, Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of the last Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. She was a humble woman full of love and mercy, she loved the poor and contributed to building hospitals and schools and organizing charitable campaigns... with her own money. She and her immediate family were all murdered while in Bolshevik captivity in 1918, during the Russian Revolution. In 2000, the Russian Orthodox Church canonized her as Saint Alexandra the Passion Bearer.
