Japanese automotive giant Honda has taken the covers off its highly anticipated Civic Sedan e:HEV for the Thailand market. This comes right after Honda’s debut of the equivalent 11th-gen Civic Hatchback e:HEV for the European market.

In terms of the exterior, the new Civic Sedan e:HEV sports a single visible exhaust at the back. Additionally, the newly-introduced RS trim gets a distinctive chrome grille and a sporty front bumper with the RS logo. Along with an H mark logo with blue frames, the hybrid sedan gets the e:HEV logo at the rear.

Honda has also equipped the Civic Sedan e:HEV with LED headlights and DRLs, front fog lamps, and LED taillights. Other design elements include the black-coloured door handles with chrome highlights, rear spoiler, shark fin antenna, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The automaker will offer the hybrid sedan in 2 variants across the Thailand market – EL+ and RS with red badging.

For the 11th-gen Civic, Honda comes with a completely overhauled interior, making it highly premium and contemporary as well. The RS trim of the Civic Sedan e:HEV gets synthetic leather upholstery with red stitching and a gloss black dashboard. Rear passengers get two USB charging ports along with rear AC vents and 60:40 split seats for added convenience. The party piece of the new Civic Hybrid is dashboard fascia which sports a honeycomb finish and knurled-finish on the rotary knobs.

Additionally, the cockpit features a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display along with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity. Customers also gain access to Honda’s Smart Key Card along with its Sensing suite, which includes several ADAS features.

The e:HEV powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection Atkinson-cycle engine and dual electric motors producing a combined 181 hp  and 315 Nm  of torque. Power is sent to the front axle through a continuously variable electric ratio automatic transmission , while the energy is stored in a lithium-ion battery mounted under the rear seats. The driver can select between the Econ, Normal, and Sport driving modes, with the powertrain shifting automatically between EV, Hybrid, and Engine Drive.

In Thailand, prices of the Honda Civic Sedan e:HEV are estimated to start from 1,150,000 baht ($34,255) for the EL+ trim, and from 1,270,000 baht for the RS. This makes them more expensive than the Civic Sedan 1.5 VTEC Turbo
