TOTO S7A Vs. TOTO s550e Bidet Seat Comparison

The S7A Washlet is Toto's newest flagship
bidet seat and is replacing the older s550e model.

Both are high end luxury bidet seat with top of the line features and unparalleled comfort. Most consider them to be the best bidet seats money can buy. But what exactly are their differences? Let's take a closer look and see how they compare.

Toto's newest generation includes two models. The S7A and S7, which replace the S550e and s500e respectively. The only difference between the S7A and S7 is the motorized seat and lid. So in this comparison we'll focus on the S7A vs. s550e

Differences and design
Both the S550 and S7A washlet have beautiful sleek designs. This new generation is again
available in either contemporary or classic lid styles. The new contemporary lid has a more rounded look for modern bathroom aesthetics, while the classic lid has the same beveled edge for more traditional types of bathrooms.

With the S7A, TOTO is able to reduce the rear height to just 4.1 inches at its thickest point, making it one of the slimmest bidet seats on the market. The older S550 washlet is noticeably bigger, with a rear height of 4.75 inches.

Toto also eliminated the need for a separate washlet plus versions of the S7 series that are compatible with T40 style toilets. Both the S7 and S7A can fit regular toilets as well as washlet plus toilets. Simplifying the lineup. Another major improvement with the new generation is the seamless seat design. By eliminating the seam in the seat. Toto also eliminated a dirt collecting gap that was prominent on the S550e series.

Spray Pressure
Both the S7A and S550e washlets have similar spray capabilities. While it doesn't have the strongest spray on the market, the S7A spray pressure is more than strong enough to thoroughly clean even the most difficult of jobs. Like the last generation, it features two spray types. A soft wide spray and stronger hard spray. The spray is effective in both rear and front modes and has both oscillating and pulsating features.

Water Heating Type.
The S7A and S550e Both have tankless water heating systems that provide on demand endless warm water.

Unique Features; Power Deodorizer
The S7A features a new power deodorizer function that boosts the power of the deodorizer fan for those extra odorous bathroom visits. -The S550e does not have this feature

Manual Premist
The S7A features a manual premist function that allows users to mist the toilet bowl of Toto's exclusive e water plus at the press of a button, in addition to the automatic cycles.
The S550e washlet does not have this manual pre-mist feature upgraded automatic lid The S7A has an upgraded automatic lid functionality that when paired with a compatible auto flush kit, can be programed to automatically close before a flush. -The S550e does not have this feature.

Fine Tuning Adjustments.
The S7A will also include more fine tuning adjustments on its remote control.
Users will be able to adjust the timing of the auto lid, program the led lighting to night mode, set a schedule for the power saving modes and much more. The S550e lacks these extra adjustments.

Warranty
Both the S7A and S550e come with a one year manufacturer's warranty

Remote Control
The S7A washlet introduces a new remote control design. It features a horizontal layout with larger tactical buttons instead of the touch capacitive buttons from the previous models. The back of the remote has the additional fine tuning adjustments mentioned earlier. The S7A also has memory for four users instead of just two. -Unfortunately, this new remote control design lacks the rear LCD screen as seen on the S550e remote. Although the lack of an LCD screen improves battery life, the absence of this useful feature can make adjusting advanced settings a bit more difficult.

Nozzle Construction

The S7A and S550e washlets both feature a single plastic nozzle for rear and front cleaning. Both nozzles include an antimicrobial surface and both are able to clean themselves of Toto's e water plus system

Seat durability
Seat durability on both bidet seats is phenomenal. The S7A and S550e are both rated to support weights up to 400 pounds.

Overall conclusion
The S7A and S550e washlet are two of the best bidet seats money can buy. If you, however, are looking for the newest, most high tech bidet seat on the market today,
then the new S7A is the way to go.
