SACRAMENTO RIVER Fishing | AMERICAN SHAD Fishing Report 2024
It was tough bites today in the Sacramento River fishing for American Shad. There were very few boats from Discovery Park all the way to Freeport along the Sacramento River. I did see shad being caught by bank and boat anglers. However, it was very slow bites by American Shad run standard! There were lots of sealions roaming around looking to snatch a caught shad from unsuspecting anglers. These sealions are aggressive and do get close to your boat; please be careful!
It is very early in the season, I would recommend waiting a few more weeks. I will try to go out weekly and give you a American Shad fishing report from my prospective. Thank you for watching.
