Seems like everybody wants a compact crossover SUV, and among them the 2017 Nissan Rogue presents a compelling case for purchase. It looks sharp and has a roomy interior, and the price is right. It provides a slight increase in power combined with extra low-end torque from the electric assist motor. Nissan estimates it will get up to 34 mpg combined. And its price undercuts the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, the only other hybrid compact crossover. But in reality, the Rogue Hybrid does not achieve its promised fuel efficiency, which makes the compromises forced by the powertrain much harder to accept.
