RAW VIDEO: Sandston-based aviation battalion hosts Family Day

The Sandston-based 2nd Battalion, 224th Aviation Battalion hosts a Family Day Aug. 21 at the Army Aviation Support Facility to mark the end of their three-week annual training at Fort Bragg, N.C. Approximately 400 Soldiers and family members attended the event, staffed by more than 50 volunteers. In addition to games set up for younger family members, vendors were on hand to provide different activities, local organizations donated food, visitors could view a Black Hawk helicopter and senior leaders of the battalion took turns in the dunking booth to raise money for the Family Readiness Group. The Virginia Guard Family Program Office had several information displays and family program experts on hand to answer questions from family members and educate attendees about the different programs offered by the Virginia National Guard.
