Nah, this cake was made early last year and as most know, the price of last year is no longer the price of this year.

So much has changed. The cost of ingredients and supplies has increased, yes. But also my skill, time and expertise.

I don’t pay myself the same as last year because I am not the same as last year. New skills, new experience, new goals. That all plays a part in this year’s pricing along with the increased cost to purchase goods.

Am I telling you to increase your cake prices like me?

Nope.

I’m telling you to know and understand WHY you charge what you charge.

Charging for your cakes is not:

❌ Charging the highest price
❌ Charging based off what you see someone else charge

But it is:

✅ Knowing your numbers, goals, and who you are serving
✅ Charging based off of what makes sense for YOU and YOUR CAKE BUSINESS
