The Mercedes-Benz PRE SAFE® PLUS
The Mercedes-Benz PRE SAFE® PLUS Technology is a safety feature that can take pre-emptive measures to protect the vehicle occupants in certain hazardous situations. It can intervene if a rear impact is imminent by warning following traffic visually, pre-tensioning the seat belts, and increasing the braking force before a collision. This can help to reduce the forward thrust in the event of a collision, which can help to prevent secondary collisions and reduce the risk of injury to the vehicle occupants.
In certain hazardous situations the pre-safe plus function may take pre-emptive measures to protect the vehicle occupants
pre-safe plus is able to intervene if a rear impact is imminent by warning following traffic visually of a possible collision
the seatbelts are also pre-tensioned
if your vehicle is already stationary the system can also increase the braking force shortly before a collision so that the vehicle brakes remain firmly applied
if a collision occurs this reduces the forward thrust thus helping to prevent a secondary collision with crossing traffic or with the vehicle ahead
thus stress for vehicle occupants plus their risk of being injured can be further reduced
