Surgical simulator
Surgery is a physical task that requires difficult decision making, and touch and realistic environment are crucial for training. We developed a surgical simulator which faithfully reproduces changes in the form and feel of the organs and offers realistic experience in virtual space. Users can train their surgical skills while experiencing realistic touch by a real-time physics engine, and realistic depiction of surgical scenes expresses authentic visuals and surgical tasks.

This video content was unveiled at “STEF (Sony Technology Exchange Fair) 2022”, which is an annual internal technology exchange meeting held within the Sony Group. The purpose of STEF is to share diverse technologies developed by each business and R&D organization, and to exchange ideas and opinions with each other, leading to the creation of new value.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the STEF, a part of the STEF will be open to the public for the first time.
The technologies and special conference programs that were presented at STEF2022, under the theme of "Technologies that inspires emotion," on the Sony Group Portal website.
