Joe Biden ‘in hot water’ over allowing arms sales to Qatar, Lebanon
Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney says Joe Biden is “in hot water” after it was revealed he was allowing arms sales to Qatar and Lebanon.
US President Joe Biden has urged Israel not to go ahead with such an operation over fears it would exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the Palestinian enclave.
Earlier this week, Biden said the United States would not provide offensive weapons for a Rafah invasion, raising pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Days before Biden made this announcement, it issued sanctions waivers to allow arms sales to Qatar and Lebanon.
“People were upset enough about not funding Israel … but to find out in the next breath he was going ahead and allowing sales to Qatar and to Lebanon has really got him in hot water,” Mr Mulvaney told Sky News host James Morrow.
“Tough sell for the American voters.”
