This was Hammer Films' first attempt to modernize its Dracula films with Christopher Lee. It has its fans, including director Tim Burton who lists it as one of his favourite films. Although a lot of critics received it quite poorly at the time, it's developed a small cult following due to its unique nature and how it tried something different.
Christopher Lee was 50 in this, and Peter Cushing was 59.
