All Cinema Series AVRs support Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, plus 8K video available on multiple inputs, room optimisation, and additional features designed to enhance the at-home entertainment experience. Meanwhile, with HEOS built-in, you also get multi-room skills on top of a full complement of wireless technologies, including wi-fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2. The all-new high-definition graphical user interface promises user-friendly operation, while voice compatibility with Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant makes hands-free control a further option. At the top of the new Marantz Cinema Series sits the AV 10 and AMP 10 built on Marantz's HDAM (Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules) technology. We're assured that this makes the units quieter in operation, more efficient and more musical. The AV 10 (£5,999/ €6,999) sports 15.4-channel processing, including four independent subwoofer outputs for the best possible bass integration and support for up to 9.1.6 Dolby Atmos layout, IMAX Enhanced and Auro 3D, for instance. In addition, Audyssey MultEQ XT32 is onboard, with Dirac Live available via an upgrade. For music streaming and unleashing the multi-channel audio offerings, you have access to popular platforms such as Spotify Connect, Deezer, TIDAL, Amazon Music, etc. Seven HDMI inputs offer native 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz passthrough, and there are three HDMI outputs, two main and one zone. Meanwhile, the AMP 10 (£5,999/ €6,999) 16-channel power amplifier offers 200W + 200W of Class D power at 8 ohms, two-channel driven; or 400W + 400W at 8 ohms, two-channel driven at BTL (Bridge-Tied Load). It also boasts XLR and RCA inputs, Marantz HDAM design and a porthole analogue level meter. Five new Denon AVR/AVC receivers have been announced, touting additional HDMI 2.1 and 8K video support at various price points. Denon's 2022/2023 A-Series, X-Series and S-Series AV receivers support all the popular 3D sound formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, Auro 3D, and now Sony 360 Reality Audio. Of course, Denon's room calibration system Audyssey is on-board, but on some of the premium models, you can also upgrade to Dirac Live. However, before reaching for Dirac Live, it might be worth checking out Audyssey's new graphical user interface, which is said to boast new wording and pictures as well as being uprated from 480p to 1080p. The results should make the system even more user-friendly and help more to get the most from their system. Sitting at the top of the range is the AVC-A1H/AVR-A1H, the prefix depending where in the world you are. Replacing Denon's Applause Award-winning AVC-A110 110th Anniversary Edition AV Amplifier, it boasts 15 channels of amplification, Denon's most powerful transformer and a hefty, “high-rigidity” construction. You also will be able to upgrade to Dirac Live once the update lands. The AVC-A1H can drive a 7.4.6 system thanks to processing for up to four subwoofers and four assignable balanced XLR outputs. Moreover, all seven of its HDMI inputs and three outputs support HDMI 2.1 and 8K video signals at 60fps. The AVC-A1H will be released in early 2023, priced at £6000.
