Waakye is a Ghanaian dish of cooked rice and beans, commonly eaten for breakfast or lunch. However, others eat it for supper. Waakye is a popular street food in Ghana.

The beans used are normally black-eyed peas, some use red or pinto beans.



Ingredients:
3 cups of Black eyed Beans
4 sticks of sorghum leaves( waakye leaves)
1 tsp Bicarbonate soda ( Baking soda)
1 tbsp of salt
4 cups of Jasmine Rice
2 tbsp coconut oil
5 cups of water
