The story is set in 1852, shortly after the death of Amir Kabir (the prime minister and great teacher of the Iranian King Nasir al-Din Shah of the Qajar Dynasty). The king is depressed after the murder of his teacher and the prime minister and he does not pay much attention to the affairs of the kingdom, this has made the Queen (Mother of the King) very worried One day, in order to get away from all formalities of the palace he asks his personal bodyguard, Salman, to accompany him out of the city to hunt. The next day they take a secret route to the valley adjacent to the palace, where the king catches sight of an attractive girl and falls in love with her. This girl named Jeyran does not recognize the king and behaves very rudely with him and leaves the place. The king cannot get the girl out of his mind and orders his guard to find the girl and bring her to the palace, but Jeyran is in love with someone else. The story now enters an interesting phase when Jeyran is brought to the palace. Jeyran faces a lot of difficulties and opposition within the palace as they do not consider this girl fit for the King as she belongs to a common family.
