موزه ايران باستان، اولين موزه ايران Ancient Iran museum in Tehran
رضا شاه پهلوي سال ١٣٠٨ هجري شمسي دستور ساخت موزه ايران باستان بعنوان اولين موزه ايراني را صادر كرده و آندره گدار معمار فرانسوي، ساختمان موزه را با الهام از معماري عصر ساساني و ايوان مدائن يا همان طاق كسري در تيسفون طراحي مي كند؛ سال ١٣١٦ شمسي نيز اين موزه با هدف نمايش آثار دوران باشكوه ايران به خصوص قبل از اسلام، يعني عصر ساسانيان، اشكانيان، هخامنشيان، مادها و دوره هاي قبل آنان افتتاح ميگردد. آثار اين موزه نشان دهنده بيش از يك ميليون سال، حيات انسان در سرزمين ايران مي باشد. اين موزه داراي سه طبقه با مساحتي حدود ١١٠٠٠ متر مربع است كه فقط دو طبقه آن امكان بازديد عمومي دارد.
In 1929, Reza Shah Pahlavi ordered the construction of the Museum of Ancient Iran as the first Iranian museum, and the French architect Andre Godard designed the museum building with inspiration from the architecture of the Sassanid era and the Iwan Madain, or the lower arch in Tisphon. In the year 1935, this museum was opened with the aim of displaying the works of the glorious era before Islam, that is, the era of Sassanids, Ashkanians, Achaemenids, Medes and their previous periods. The works of this museum represent more than one million years of human life in the land of Iran. This museum has three floors with an area of about 11000 square meters, of which only two floors can be visited by the public.
