Addiction is a treatable disease. People suffering from substance use disorders have trouble controlling their drug use even though they know drugs are harmful, but recovery is possible. There are many safe and effective treatment options, some of which may involve medication – like medications for opioid use disorder. Finding the right path to recovery, and continuing to walk it, is critical to overcoming addiction.
