Chai karak, or karak tea,
Chai karak, or karak tea, is an Indian and Pakistani tea, unique and tasty because of its strong black tea and marsala flavour, sweet and airy, and beautiful caramel colour. It’s become very common and famous in the Middle East, especially in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Oman, due to the global trade.
We found this popular place in the old suburb of Muscat in Oman. It becomes very crowded in the afternoon and the workers from Southeast Asia have their afternoon tea there.
They also make some delicious milkshakes with flavoured ice cream and a whole array of fried, bite-sized morsels to enjoy munching on alongside your drink.
